Project Fork Review

About a 4 months ago I was in need of a project management system close to that of Sharepoint. I searched high and low, asked many people to help in the search of a solution that I could integrate into my Joomla driven website. I was about to have a programmer create an extension set for me so that I could have user authentication to Project Pier (a open source Project Management system) when along came Tobias and his team at JoomlaPraise with a posting that said New ProjectFork coming 1st week of November 2008.

I was extatic, but how many times have I heard a developer within the community say something like that and nothing happens? If you've been in the community for a little while you know what I'm talking about. Well anyways I waited for the 1st week of Novemebr and sure enough ProjectFork was released. I was so excited I spent a couple of weeks,  learning it in my spare time and began to appreciate the intricate craftsmanship of this component, so much so that I began to bug test for the developers. Why not right? It was FREE and that was the least I could do for them. It was pretty tough, I thought to myself, "This sucker is Stable!" But I did manage to find a few things and help out. After sumitting bug requests or even just regular questions Tobias had the solution or was just there to help out. It almost seemd as if he was always waiting for someone to ask a question. Now THAT's SUPPORT! It wasn't soon after that I began to realize that this software is likley to be worth more than any component out on the Joomla Market. My suggestion is, if you need to track your progress on a project or you have a team of people all working together and need a central place to keep track of tasks, share ideas, files, calendars, or comments, ProjectFork is your project management solution. Hop on over to Joomlapraise.com and find tutorial on how you can create your own Intranet and all the great things you can do with ProjectFork. Give Praise for Joomla Praise.
