About a 4 months ago I was in need of a project management system close to that of Sharepoint. I searched high and low, asked many people to help in the search of a solution that I could integrate into my Joomla driven website. I was about to have a programmer create an extension set for me so that I could have user authentication to Project Pier (a open source Project Management system) when along came Tobias and his team at JoomlaPraise with a posting that said New ProjectFork coming 1st week of November 2008.

Install CAPTCHA into default Joomla 1.5 Contact form |
|
With all the loads of SPAM people get on a daily basis you would think that the Joomla Dev team would have integrated a CAPTCHA feature into their contact form at the very least. Good thing we got a great community who have attempted to create CAPTCHA functionality for a few of the most widley used forms in Joomla. One of them being the default contact form.

Rounding Up a Joomla Network in San Diego |
|
Hey San Diego! Come join the Official Joomla User Group for San Diego. Let me start off by giving a little bit of a background story. I started this User Group after attending a class at Continuing Ed. and seeing how many people were interested in Joomla. It was cool to see so many people of all ages and skill levels wanting to know more about Joomla. Me naturally being a person who like to help I thought it would be cool to have a monthly gathering of people discussing everything there is to know and learn about Joomla. I've been an active user of Joomla for 3 years and have always talked about it and gave back to the community through donations, beta testing, and helping in the forums. There's still so much that needs to be done. In the next few days I will be adding more content and finish some last minute configurations. As the group grows so will the website. Hopefully our members will give some great ideas. We will be creating a meetup group here shortly to start the marketing activities for this site. So, lets see how many Joomla users are actually in San Diego. You can start by signing up and introducing yourself in the forum. Regards, Louis |
