Over the past weeks I've been hard at work, you know that 8-6 mandatory job that sometimes turns into an 18 hour job. But who's complaining, I'm a work aholic.. is that a bad thing?
Well 1st I would like to apologize for not updating this site and for delaying the 1st JUG meeting. It's coming... stay tuned for an exact date. In the mean time someone on meetup has taken over the San Diego Meet up group. I'll be attending that one to try and merge our purposes.
On a brighter note, this site will be moving to a new host. I'm not sure, but I guess some of you have been experiencing 500 errors on this site. It totally sucks I've been fighting with my host and they will not comply. That reminds me, since I've been putting in some work in identifying a cool new host I thought I would write about some experiences with hosts. and how friendly they are with Joomla.
If you experience any downtime please keep in mind that we are moving. We'll be back in a little bit. Thanks
Project Fork Review
About a 4 months ago I was in need of a project management system close to that of Sharepoint. I searched high and low, asked many people to help in the search of a solution that I could integrate into my Joomla driven website. I was about to have a programmer create an extension set for me so that I could have user authentication to Project Pier (a open source Project Management system) when along came Tobias and his team at JoomlaPraise with a posting that said New ProjectFork coming 1st week of November 2008.
We hope everyone has had a wonmdreful and safe holiday season. Now that the holidays are over and a new year is upon us we are getting back to work there's tons of work to accomplish. Let's start making this the best year possible. I am looking forward to meeting many of you at our 1st meeting towards the end of the month. The location should be confirmed very soon. In the meantime please register and let us know who you are.
Install CAPTCHA into default Joomla 1.5 Contact form
With all the loads of SPAM people get on a daily basis you would think that the Joomla Dev team would have integrated a CAPTCHA feature into their contact form at the very least. Good thing we got a great community who have attempted to create CAPTCHA functionality for a few of the most widley used forms in Joomla. One of them being the default contact form.
